After a string of seven wins, Marist's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Marist's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 15-5. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.

When Marist and St. Pius X Catholic next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Marist will try to stop Northview's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Pius X Catholic will face off against Southwest DeKalb and their four-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
