Soccer Game Preview: Verdugo Hills vs. Poly

The Verdugo Hills Dons will square off against the Poly Parrots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Verdugo Hills is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Verdugo Hills' defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Arleta. The Dons' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Paola Moreno, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Poly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Monroe on Wednesday as Poly made off with a 3-0 win. The Parrots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by three goals or more this season.

Poly's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Verdugo Hills, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-1.

Everything went Verdugo Hills' way against Poly in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Verdugo Hills made off with a 5-1 victory. Does Verdugo Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
