Basketball Recap: Southwest SD Raiders vs. Tri-City Christian Eagles
If Southwest SD was riding high fresh off their 50-25 takedown of Sweetwater last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Southwest SD Raiders took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-City Christian Eagles.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazlyn Martinez, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Pilar Carrera, who scored 12 points.
Katie Busch was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten boards for Tri-City Christian. That's the most points Busch has posted since back in December of 2023. Serina Arreola also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Southwest SD's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Tri-City Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Coming up, Southwest SD will be playing at home against Mar Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Tri-City Christian's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Santa Fe Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
