Basketball Preview: South Philadelphia Rams vs. Sayre Sabres

The South Philadelphia Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Sayre Sabres at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. South Philadelphia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Last Wednesday, South Philadelphia strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 27-13. Given South Philadelphia's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Panthers are ranked 709th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Philadelphia to victory, but perhaps none more so than India Brooks, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Sayre had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over Tacony Academy Charter.

Brionn Veal-Coston continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mischa Ferguson-Bell, who scored eight points along with seven assists and six steals.

South Philadelphia's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Sayre, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
