Basketball Recap: Stony Point Comes Up Short

Stony Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tomball Cougars.

Kylee Symons continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tomball, going 5 for 10 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Symons has scored at least a third of Tomball's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Caldwell, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Stony Point's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Tomball, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season.

Stony Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-40 defeat against Hays on the 28th. As for Tomball, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-45 victory against Lovejoy on the 28th.
