Baseball Recap: Drew Charter Has No Trouble Against Columbia

Drew Charter won the last time they faced Columbia and things went their way on Thursday too. Drew Charter put the hurt on Columbia with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for Drew Charter, who have now won 12 games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Cade Hudson and Walter Nunnally made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Hudson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Nunnally pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Hudson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Nunnally went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Drew Charter is undefeated when Nunnally posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Alex DeCarlo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Richburg, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Drew Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Drew Charter's record is now 12-9. As for Columbia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Drew Charter will challenge Lovett at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Drew Charter's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
