Basketball Recap: Milani Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton over Portola

Hamilton managed to keep up with Portola until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Hamilton Braves came up short against the Portola Tigers, falling 53-33. The loss continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Hamilton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Milani Rodriguez, who posted two points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Hamilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Portola, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Coming up, Hamilton will face off against Quincy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Quincy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Portola, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-21 win against Williams on the 12th.
