Softball Recap: Winterset Comes Up Short

Winterset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Interstate 35 Roadrunners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in May.

Winterset's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Interstate 35, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Winterset wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Martensdale-St. Mary's on the 28th. Interstate 35 has also already played their next matchup (against Pleasantville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
