Baseball Game Preview: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Brooks County Trojans

The Atkinson County Rebels will venture away from home to square off against the Brooks County Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Atkinson County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Atkinson County made easy work of Montgomery County and carried off a 17-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Atkinson County got a massive performance out of Jack Tillman, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Tillman has become a key player for Atkinson County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bryce Clement, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Atkinson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montgomery County only posted an OBP of .200.

Meanwhile, Brooks County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-4 to Atkinson County.

Brooks County's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Atkinson County, their record now sits at 5-8.

Everything went Atkinson County's way against Brooks County when the teams last played on Tuesday, as Atkinson County made off with a 19-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atkinson County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
