Basketball Game Preview: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Pacific Ridge Firebirds

The Classical Academy Caimans will square off against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Classical Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Escondido Charter on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Classical Academy was beaten by Escondido Charter 71-35. While losing is never fun, the Caimans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while the Tigers are ranked 347th).

Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 39-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rock Academy.

Classical Academy now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Pacific Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Classical Academy skirted past Pacific Ridge 28-25 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will Classical Academy repeat their success, or does Pacific Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
