Volleyball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Papillion-LaVista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Fremont Tigers 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Monarchs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Papillion-LaVista who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 25-20.

Aubree Fettin paced Papillion-LaVista's offense, picking up 13 kills. Fettin got some help from Mia Torchia and her 14 assists. Sophia Torchia controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Fremont still got an impressive performance from Jenna Ellsworth, who had five digs and three aces.

Papillion-LaVista's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season.

Papillion-LaVista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Millard North on the 18th. As for Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Westview on the 18th.
