While Northside didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Howard Huskies on Monday. Northside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Howard only posted an OBP of .417.
Northside pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Howard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Northside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 defeat against Thomas County Central on the 19th. As for Howard, they will square off against Westside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
