Softball Recap: Timnath Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Timnath had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Valley Vikings on Saturday. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered an 11-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Leilani Meckley, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Anabella Carbajal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Timnath wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 21-2 loss against Berthoud on the 20th. As for Valley, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-9 victory against Peak to Peak on the 19th.
