Basketball Recap: First Baptist Skates Past Alcuin with Ease

First Baptist waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Alcuin Hawks 74-32. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading First Baptist to victory were Micah Foster and Jett Stamps. Foster dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists, while Stamps went 8 for 18 en route to 24 points. Foster has been hot recently, having posted nine or more assists the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Jones, who posted 11 points.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spencer Smith, who put up 20 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Dunda, who had ten points.

First Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Alcuin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

First Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 87-35 victory against Cambridge on the 24th. Alcuin has also already played their next contest, a 66-30 loss against Prestonwood Christian North on the 24th.
