La Porte had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Merrillville Pirates 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.
La Porte never let Merrillville on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 26-24.
Madison Copeland paced La Porte's offense, picking up nine kills. Copeland got some help from Evelyn Shirk and her 19 assists. Tessa Koepke controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
La Porte now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Merrillville, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.
