Football Game Preview: Frankfort Redbirds vs. Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats

The Frankfort Redbirds will challenge the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Frankfort's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Benton on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 39-0 loss at the hands of the Rangers. The Redbirds have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-13, which was the final score in Anna-Jonesboro's tilt against DuQuoin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Indians are ranked 154th).

Anna-Jonesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Frankfort was able to grind out a solid victory over Anna-Jonesboro when the teams last played back in August of 2022, winning 22-13. Will the Redbirds repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
