Football Recap: New London-Spicer Falls to Holy Family Catholic in First Game of Season

New London-Spicer unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Holy Family Catholic Fire on Friday, falling 39-8. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Fire are ranked 126th).

Looking ahead, New London-Spicer will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Holy Family Catholic, they will square off against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
