Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Covenant Christian challenged Grace Prep on Friday. The Cougars took a 60-45 bruising from the Lions. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mj Boyd produced another solid effort going 9-for-14 en route to 23 points along with five assists and five boards for Grace Prep. Boyd's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Tre Green was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Grace Prep, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Covenant Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-63 defeat against John Paul II on the 6th. As for Grace Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 75-41 victory against Trinity Christian on the 6th.
