Soccer Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence fell victim to Xavier and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Saints. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Xavier are ranked 20th).

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18-1. As for Xavier, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3-1.

Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Xavier, they will be playing at home against Wahlert on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Xavier have won six straight at home, while Wahlert won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
