Basketball Recap: Paramount Gets the Win

Paramount won against Schurr last Wednesday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Pirates walked away with a 58-49 victory over the Hesperia Scorpions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Despite the loss, Hesperia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paris Leonard went 5-for-11 to rack up 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Leonard has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Brooke Seeger was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Paramount's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Hesperia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Paramount won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sunny Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 52 points per game this season. As for Hesperia, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
