Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Chariton

Chariton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Cardinal Comets 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Chariton pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Cardinal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Chariton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Knoxville on the 24th. As for Cardinal, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Fairfield on the 24th.
