Sac-Joaquin Section softball playoff projections: May 6 with seedings

By Steve Montoya May 6, 2025, 10:45am

A sixth look at how the softball playoffs are looking around the Sac-Joaquin Section.

The Sac-Joaquin Section high school softball playoff brackets won't officially be announced until May 9, but we can begin projecting what they might look like. We’ll update this weekly—and remember, this is just a projection.

Important information:

Each league will receive three automatic qualifiers if it has six or more teams. Leagues with five or fewer teams will receive two.

Any school not in a league’s top three but ranked in the Top 15 by MaxPreps will earn an at-large bid. For Division VII, it will be the Top 8 by MaxPreps.

After all teams are determined, brackets will be split into seven divisions based on enrollment.

Any team that wins league (or is the outright No. 1) must play at its league’s level or higher.

No team can play two divisions below its league placement.

Find more information here on how the brackets are determined.
