Soccer Game Preview: Brawley vs. Imperial

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Brawley take on the Imperial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Brawley is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Calexico on Tuesday. Brawley fell just short of Calexico by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Imperial came up short against Central on Tuesday, falling 4-1. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Brawley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6-2.

Brawley skirted past Imperial 2-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brawley since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
