Softball Recap: Winder-Barrow Drops Season-High Score on Bethlehem Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Monroe Area, Winder-Barrow was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights. The Bulldoggs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Riley Cox looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Payton Boothe was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Riley Herndon, who earned five RBI and two runs.

Winder-Barrow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Bethlehem Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winder-Barrow will square off against Apalachee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bethlehem Christian Academy, they will take on Hebron Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
