Soccer Recap: St. Ansgar Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Dodge on Tuesday, St. Ansgar came back down to earth. The Saints fell just short of the Des Moines North Polar Bears by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Ansgar of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

St. Ansgar now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for Des Moines North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

St. Ansgar didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Marshalltown on the 29th. As for Des Moines North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against West Fork on the 25th.
