Basketball Recap: Castilleja Extends Winning Streak to Four

Castilleja waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 43-37 W against the King's Academy Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-28 back in January.

Castilleja's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonia Vlahos, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Vlahos has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Layla Gallon, who posted six points and ten boards.

Castilleja smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Castilleja's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for King's Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

As of now, neither Castilleja nor King's Academy have any future games scheduled.
