Preview: Rancho Christian Eagles vs. Moreno Valley Vikings

The Rancho Christian Eagles will take on the Moreno Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rancho Christian walked away with it. They blew past the Tritons 75-50. Rancho Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.

Rancho Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ebony Taylor-smith out in front who went 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 3 assists. Taylor-smith hasn't dropped below 18 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Julia Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 assists.

Meanwhile, Moreno Valley came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Bonita by a score of 49-36. Given Moreno Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Bonita is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rancho Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Moreno Valley, their win bumped their record up to 26-4.
