Basketball Recap: Orosi Takes a Loss

Orosi lost against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Orosi Cardinals took a 52-35 bruising from the Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Bears. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evonie Mendoza continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Mendoza is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jennie Gallegos, who posted five points along with 19 boards and five steals.

Orosi's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Orange Cove the next time they take the court. Summit Charter Collegiate Academy will head out to face Orange Cove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Orosi will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
