            Softball Recap: Columbus Discoverers vs. Kearney Bearcats        
        
		
        
        
            Columbus extended their losing streak  to eight  on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-20. They lost  12-3 to the Kearney Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  7-5  on Thursday.
  Olivia Hill was cooking despite her team's loss,   going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
As for Kearney, they pushed their record up to 22-10 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won 17 matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 On Kearney's side,  Lauren Schmeits was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  Schmeits has posted  over her last 11  games. Another player making a difference was  Greeley Cargill, who  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
As of now, neither Columbus nor Kearney have any future games scheduled.
