Soccer Game Preview: Las Plumas vs. Red Bluff

The Las Plumas Thunderbirds are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Red Bluff Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Las Plumas' last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Las Plumas picked up another tournament win two weeks ago. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Las Plumas who was credited with the victory. Las Plumas got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Yuba City's two. Gabriella Robertson had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Thunderbirds.

Las Plumas is hoping to do what Anderson couldn't on Wednesday: put an end to Red Bluff's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Red Bluff never let Anderson onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Las Plumas' victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Red Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-1.

Las Plumas beat Red Bluff 2-0 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Las Plumas since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
