Soccer Game Preview: Chagrin Falls vs. Lake Catholic

The Chagrin Falls Tigers will square off against the Lake Catholic Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chagrin Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Chagrin Falls proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Andrews Osborne Academy get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Chagrin Falls' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Andrews Osborne Academy are ranked 241st).

Chagrin Falls' one-goal win came courtesy of Grayson Fisher, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, Lake Catholic won against Lincoln West on Saturday with seven goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Crestview. The result was nothing new for Lake Catholic, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Lake Catholic's win bumped their record up to 12-3-3. As for Chagrin Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Chagrin Falls came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Catholic in their previous meeting back in August of 2017, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
