Meanwhile, Hilltop had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 win over Chula Vista on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lancers have posted since December 12, 2024.

Hilltop's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9. As for Otay Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 19-5.

Everything came up roses for Otay Ranch against Hilltop in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as the squad secured a 64-32 win. Will Otay Ranch repeat their success, or does Hilltop have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
