Softball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Arlington's Winning Streak

Arlington dropped down to 10-8 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Yutan-Mead Patriots by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Adrianna Mincer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

As for Yutan-Mead, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

On Yutan-Mead's side, Jersey Siske spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Yutan-Mead's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Woster, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Woster has posted over her last 13 matches. Another was Addi Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Arlington is set to square off against their familiar foe NEN at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yutan-Mead will take on rival Fort Calhoun at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
