Valwood came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-4 to the Taylor County Bulldogs. The Valiants' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Valwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dywan Powell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Valwood fell to 3-1. As for Taylor County, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Coming up, Valwood will square off against Terrell Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th.
