Basketball Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Everett Warriors

The Meyersdale Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Everett Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Meyersdale has not done well against the Cougars recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Meyersdale managed a 37-33 win over the Cougars. 37 seems to be a good number for Meyersdale as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meyersdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maci Moore out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Moore has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Laurel Daniels was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Everett waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over Northern Bedford County.

Cloe Price was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Bowser, who scored 14 points.

Meyersdale's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Everett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's game: Meyersdale have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 70% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Everett, though, as they've only made 29.9% of their threes this season. Given Meyersdale's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.

Meyersdale might still be hurting after the 53-33 loss they got from the Warriors when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Meyersdale have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
