Football Recap: St. Pius X Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Organ Mountain came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against St. Pius X, but Hershul Olloway Jr wouldn't allow it. The Sartans walked away with a 28-21 win over the Knights on Thursday with plenty of help from Olloway Jr, who rushed for 255 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 14.2 yards per carry. Olloway Jr is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Osvaldo Arras, who rushed for 144 yards. Zeke Weir also helped with two touchdowns in total.

The victory was the third in a row for St. Pius X, bringing their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.3 points this season. As for Organ Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Pius X will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Silver at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Organ Mountain, they will head out to face off against Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. The matchup will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
