Soccer Recap: Westridge Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Westridge duked it out withPolytechnic on Friday. The Westridge Tigers lost 4-1 to the Polytechnic Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 736th, while the Panthers are ranked 309th).

Westridge's goal came courtesy of Danika Vargas, who's now up to six this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Westridge and nudges their season record down to 3-6-3. As for Polytechnic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1.

Westridge will welcome Flintridge Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Flintridge Prep will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Westridge surely won't give up without a fight. Polytechnic has already played their next contest (against Providence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
