Basketball Recap: Rancho Christian Skates Past Valley View with Ease

Rancho Christian's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 87-53 win over the Valley View Eagles. Rancho Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Julia Wilson was her usual excellent self, going 10 of 14 en route to 22 points along with seven assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Cosme, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Rancho Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley View only pulled down nine offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Valley View saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jada Booten almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Booten a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Mason Long, who posted nine points along with seven assists and three steals.

Rancho Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Rancho Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 87-40 victory against Heritage on the 30th. Valley View has also already played their next match, a 64-29 win against Poly on the 30th.
