Baseball Recap: Lithia Springs Wins Going Away Against South Cobb

Lithia Springs won the last time they faced South Cobb and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Lithia Springs Lions' way against the South Cobb Eagles as the Lithia Springs Lions made off with a 16-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Domani Weems made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Weems is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Lithia Springs got a big performance out of Caleb Garrett, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Garrett a new career-high in stolen bases. Zion Bracy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Lithia Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Cobb only posted an OBP of .500.

Lithia Springs now has a winning record of 2-1. As for South Cobb, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Cobb, they will challenge New Faith Christian Academy at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
