Baseball Recap: Banneker Trojans vs. Douglass Astros
After flying high against Carver last Thursday, Banneker came back down to earth. The Trojans came up short against the Douglass Astros on Wednesday, falling 20-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Astros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in February.
Jayson Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Knights, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Banneker's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Douglass, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Looking ahead, Banneker will face off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Douglass, they will take on North Clayton at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
