Soccer Game Preview: San Jacinto vs. Elsinore

The San Jacinto Tigers will take on the Elsinore Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Elsinore took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on San Jacinto, who comes in off a win.

San Jacinto took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand West Valley a 2-0 shutout. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Mustangs are ranked 933rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Elsinore was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 5-1 to Temescal Canyon. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

San Jacinto's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matchups. As for Elsinore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-2 record this season.
