Preview: Millville Quakers vs. Bucktail Bucks
Millville has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Bucktail Bucks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Millville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Millville lost to Muncy at home by a decisive 43-29 margin.
The losing side was boosted by Larissa Evans, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 62.1% of Millville's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Kakaley, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Bucktail came up short against Meadowbrook Christian on Thursday and fell 44-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bucktail in their matchups with Meadowbrook Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Millville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Bucktail, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Millville beat Bucktail 42-33 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
