Derry extends road losing streak to seven

The Derry Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Greensburg Salem, falling 61-29. Derry has not had much luck with Greensburg Salem recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Kaitlyn Mankins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greensburg Salem, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Mankins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlan Price, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Derry's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Greensburg Salem, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Derry will take on Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Greensburg Salem, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Laurel Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
