Baseball Game Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

For the second straight game, Argo will face off against Evergreen Park. The Argonauts will welcome the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Argo has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Evergreen Park hit Argo with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Argonauts came up short against the Mustangs, falling 11-1.

For Evergreen Park's part, Cadyn Kummer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Kummer a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Noah Munoz was a standout: he fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Yarim Garcia was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Evergreen Park is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Argo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
