Softball Recap: Platte Valley Takes a Loss

Platte Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cedaredge Bruins, falling 12-4.

Platte Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Becky Benevides, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Platte Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Cedaredge, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Platte Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedaredge, they will be taking part in a tournament against Brush at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beetdiggers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
