Soccer Recap: Del Norte Takes a Loss

Del Norte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clovis Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Del Norte of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Aboraihan Naziri, who's now up to 15 this season.

Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Clovis, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Del Norte wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Bernalillo on the 25th. As for Clovis, they will venture away from home to square off against Carlsbad at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. The match will give Clovis their first taste of in-conference action this season.
