American had won eight straight games and Shirina Shi did her part to make it nine on Thursday. The American Eagles put the hurt on the Granada Matadors with a sharp 61-40 victory thanks in part to Shi, who posted 26 points and five rebounds. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Lin, who put up six points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rebounds (four).

American's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Granada, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

American didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-43 defeat against James Logan on the 7th. As for Granada, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-40 loss against Marin Catholic on the 4th.
