Football Recap: Nicollet Comes Up Short

Nicollet extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Cedar Mountain Cougars, falling 43-22. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 46-30 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Cedar Mountain, the win got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cedar Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Guetter led the charge by rushing for 252 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also catching one score. Those 252 rushing yards gave Guetter a new career-high. Thomas Dahmes was in the mix too, providing Cedar Mountain with three TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nicollet will welcome New Ulm Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Mountain, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Red Rock Central at 7:00 p.m.
