Baseball Recap: Echols County Takes a Loss

Echols County had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-21 to make it five. They lost 8-0 to the Atkinson County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-5 defeat on Friday.

As for Atkinson County, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Atkinson County's part, Jack Tillman was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The Rebels are undefeated when Tillman posts two or more stolen bases, but 10-14 otherwise. Jovi Meeks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

As of now, neither Echols County nor Atkinson County have any future games scheduled.
