Basketball Recap: Bishop Canevin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monessen last Saturday, Bishop Canevin came back down to earth. The Bishop Canevin Crusaders lost 60-35 to the Clairton Bears on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Bears are ranked 191st).

Iyanna Wade continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clairton, putting up 33 points. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Wade has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. K Fuqua was another key player, posting 18 points.

Bishop Canevin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Clairton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Bishop Canevin has already played their next game (against West Greene), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clairton has already played their next matchup, an 83-56 win against California on the 28th.
